I love this school. My son has thrived here. He has learned so much and he enjoys going. I find the principal and staff to be very friendly and approachable. My children went to Woodland. Uniforms are great! I have found that issues with the uniforms are generally parents who are not focussing on academics themselves and complain about everything. I found the administration open and the teachers truly caring. They were always willing to take extra time

Woodland was not my first choice of schools to send my children to,honestly, it would not have been my second or third choice. My child is a kindergartener in a split K/1st grade class, and they are just now finally beginning to cover subjects that he had not already learned at home. The homework every night does not bother me, it gives them a glimpse of what's to come. However, I find the uniform policy ridiclous and unecessary. Not only are they unattractive and tacky looking, I resent someone else telling me that I don't know how to properly dress my children. Read less

'Uniforms for our children... what exactly does this accomplish? Do you want your child to be a drone of society or a creative innovator? Stifling any outlet of self expression in our children should be looked upon as a poor choice by our schools systems and our Government. I, for one, abhor the use

My son goes to Woodland, as does my Daughter... he is 5 years old and just started Kindergarden, yet he brings home twice the homework of my 9 year old. I think they are pushing a bit much to expect so much so soon from a 5 year old. The teachers seem unsympathetic to the fact that this is all new to him, and are quick to send home disciplinary notes. I look forward to moving back to Louisville to get out of here. Read less

* In 2007-2008 Kentucky used the Kentucky Core Content Tests (KCCT) to assess students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 through 12 in several subjects. The Elementary School results displayed on GreatSchools profiles are for grades 3 through 5 combined for each subject. Middle School results are for grades 6 though 8 combined, and High School results are for grades 10 though 12 combined. The results reflect the performance of students enrolled for at least 100 days before testing. The KCCT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Kentucky. KCCT academic indices range between 0 and 140, with 100 as the statewide goal for all students.
