It is a fantastic shool. Western Boone has a superb musical, academic, arts, and agriculture departments. The faculty is top rate. I have seen other school where the faculty just doesn't care about the students. I have also seen bigger schools and I adore the smaller atmoshphere that Western Boone has.

... Read more small. You feel like part of a family. That's something that you can't get at a large school. The administration has always been very accommodating and fair when I've had any concerns. Like all schools these days, there are some fighting and bullying problems. The one time my daughter was involved in a serious bullying incident, the school acted in a very quick, positive manner. I was very pleased with the way they handled it. I also just love their art department. It, and the art teachers are first rate. Read less

I have had three Western Boone (WEBO) graduates and a freshman still attending. Two of my children graduated from Purdue, one went on to become a Marine and WEBO helped them to become successful adults. The school is rural and is a closed campus which is good. Sports are very important and like
... Read more most small town schools, popularity can be based on who your family is. Any problems we've had at WEBO have always been dealt with in a fair and appropriate manner. WEBO's SAT scores and ratings are higher than surrounding schools. Parental involvement is very high. Students are typically well behaved but there is still some degree of bullying, drugs, teenage pregnancies, etc. Every school has its problems, WEBO is no exception. WEBO provides a great education, excellent teachers and a fun and safe learning environment. Read less

After dealing with the principal of this school recently I have found that the parent in this school have no rights. There are no apeals. Hearings are done unfairly. When the principal will tell you up front that you can have a hearing if you want, but that he has never lost one. There is bullying in

The level of parent involvement for Western Boone is fantastic. I feel it drops some from the elementary school to the junior high and high school. Overall, I think that the teachers really care about their students and they get to know their students very well. I would like to see more technology incorporated
... Read more into teaching. Western Boone has a great opportunity for extracurricular activities. However, they are not equally attended by the faculty. It is because of the parent involvement that the music and art programs exist. They even buy jacket for the kids. I love the small community and the attention my children get. Read less

* In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science. Advanced Placement
