Our daughter has been attending PCS since kindergarten. She is now in 6th grade and loving it. We plan to have her remain through high school. The teachers and staff are committed to the students. We love PCS!

I am very pleased with this shool. I love the teachers, and the curriculum is top notch. I believe it is the best school out there. My children feel accepted here; I believe it is because the teachers create such a warm encouraging enviroment for the kids to excel. I highly, highly recommend to anyone!

It is awesome! i absolutely love the teachers there and I learn alot. We have an awesome journalism staff(of which i am apart of) who puts out an awesome newspaper, and an awesome choir(Thanks to Mrs. Davis!) My son went to this for 5 years. It is wonderful. The balance between academics, and the Christian faith is wonderful. If it were not for our financial situation taking a turn, we would still be there!

Portage Christian is a great school my son start half the way into the year and all the staff and teachers were great to him. I tell everyone what a great school it is.

My daughter has always done well in public school, so well in fact, she was not really being challenged. Portage, with their small and personal staff have really challenged her in this her first year. I am greatful for that. Advanced Placement

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.

Before/After School

"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.

Gifted and Talented

A school system may identify 10% to 15% or more of its student population as gifted and talented. A brief description of each area of giftedness or talent as defined by the Office of Gifted and Talented:

  • general intellectual ability or talent - high intelligence test score (usually two standard deviations above the mean), and high levels of vocabulary, memory, abstract work knowledge and abstract reasoning;

Vocation/Technical Curriculum

Vocational and/or technical courses offered within a comprehensive school, usually a senior high school.

Special Education Classes

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.

Adult Education Classes

Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.

English as Second Language

English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
