I'm sure the teachers are doing the best they can, considering what they have to work with. To say the teachers and staff are 'uncaring' is completely unfair. JCHS is the greatest school ever! I love our sports here, most of the teachers, and all of our extracricular activities. It is a great school and I wouldn't choose anywhere else!

Jennings County High School does not deserve the reputation it has. The students can determine how far they go and how well they do. Sure, there are a few teachers who wouldn't go down in my book as amazing, but there are so many more who would. Many teachers in this school put their hearts and souls into their career. Give them credit! I think our administration is doing the best they can considering what is at their disposal. The principals truly care. Read less

Jennings County Hing School is not a good place for a student to go to school. There is no parent involvement and there is also no student involvement. The academic programs are not any good. If u wnat your child to be smart and seccecful then stay away of jchs. I would not recmend it.

I think the math department as some problems though. they do have some good teachers though. Not naming any names. I know of a student that had an F the first semester then switched teachers and now he has a B. Go figure.

My son is currently in the 9th grade. This is his first year at JCHS. My son had received one on one help from his math teacher. Where there was once a feeling of I can t there is now a belief that I can. His Science, English and Math teachers are so excited about what they teach that my son comes
... Read more home full of chatter of what he has learned that day. The teachers are so respectable to the students that my son now has a lot of respect for himself and others. My son wanted to try out for wrestling. He is a big boy 6 foot 2 and at the time weighing 325 pounds. The coach worked with my son one on one and he slimmed down to 227 pounds and still losing weight. Read less

Though there is always room for improvement, JCHS did a good job preparing me for college. (Examples: I scored 1330 on my SAT. I scored high 90's on all parts of my ISTEP exams. There are some truly amazing teachers at JCHS, and some that are not as good. All in all, a student must take the initiative to excel. Nobody can force initiative upon anyone else! * In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. High school students are required to pass the grade 10 ISTEP+ to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.

Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
