Jennings County High School does not deserve the reputation it has. The students can determine how far they go and how well they do. Sure, there are a few teachers who wouldn't go down in my book as amazing, but there are so many more who would. Many teachers in this school put their hearts and souls into their career. There are some truly amazing teachers at JCHS, and some that are not as good. All in all, a student must take the initiative to excel. Nobody can force initiative upon anyone else! The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. High school students are required to pass the grade 10 ISTEP+ to receive a high school diploma. The goal is for all students to score at the passing level on the test.
