We have been in the school system for one year now and our first grader is exceeding and enjoying school. We moved her in the middle of Kindergarten year. We particularly like the way that the students are broke up into individual groups to learn with peers of their same level. This school recognizes that students may be stronger in one subject over another and cater to that. Our daughter is challenged and rewarded everyday at school. This school turned out to be a poor choice for our family. My children came from a private school and while getting straight A's the first couple of quarters, their grades dropped dramatically and my son had problems with bullies. After 2 years of trying to work with the teachers to find solutions

This school has been a blessing to our family. All of the teachers and staff at SCE have all opened their hearts to both of my children. I have watched the teachers all go beyond the call of duty for their students. I know of one teacher who goes right after school to tutor a student who got ill right
... Read more after the school year started. She has demonstrated a kindness and professionalism that I was happy to discover existed. The principal is wonderful. He truly cares and knows each child. The enviroment truly cultivates a love for learning. The creative things they have developed to keep the children excited about learning are wonderful. They start with the Cody Store with the library to the Math club with the principal. The children really feel like the school is their home. My daughter has attended this school since it was opened in 2000. We had a great first two years and a we are having a great fourth year (fifth grade). She had some trouble last year, but overall I am very pleased with our school. They have a great PTO and it raises a lot of money for the school.

Overall a very good school and staff. The only down side I have seen with three kids enrolled is the furniture for the students. Some class rooms use tables instead of desks due to a teaching system that is not being used anymore. I like the fact that the students days do not conform to an
... Read more overly consistant schedule. While it is somewhat of a hassle it better prepares the kids for life which is never consistant. All of the teachers I have dealt with were very good. Especilly the three fourth grade teachers. Read less
* In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science. Advanced Placement
