What people need to realize is that you only get out of a school what you put into it. Parents as well. I have friends who went to Bishop Noll and sad to say they wasted their money because we received the same amount of education! HHS is an okay school. The teachers are great though. The student body is horrible. They lack school spirit and are unsupporting. There is a never ending anger in HHS. This is a really nice school! The only 2 problems that I have is that there are a lot fights in the school and that kids have to walk in front of the cars when they are trying to drive around to park or to leave the area.

I attended Hammond High School and from what I had heard I was not looking forward to going there but the staff and students changed my mind. There is a comment about how the girls dress. ... Read more when they aren't receiving any discipline in the home it is not the job of the teachers to teach the students how to act. And some teachers will allow their students to wear inappropriate clothing only because the consequences of that would mean missing class. I attended Hammond High for only two months and I already missed it. Science was always a hard class for me but the teachers determination to help kids learn is there and they never gave up. Hammond High is wonderful. And I think anybody would enjoy it there. Read less

It's very diverse and excellent for academics. Other school aren't schools who are diverse and competitve. Many Hammond High students have a challenge when they come to this school. My children went there. The teachers let the kids do whatever they want. The girls always wear innapropriate clothing and they never get in trouble. Some teachers are prejudiced. Many kids get harrassed in that school and nothing is done about it. If I could do it over again, I would have sent my children

Advanced Placement
