I used to work at this school and my children previously attended. I would not recommend this school to anyone interested in a Christian learning environment or higher education for their children. Many years ago parents were promised the school would be accredited. The new administrator was hired

At the time parents were assured, once again, that accreditation was coming 'next year'. At no time are parents permitted to attend regular meetings of the school board and the nomination process is self-propogating. We have had our kids at GCS for 7 years. During this time there have been many changes however not always good ones. More problems are occurring especially discipline issues. These are not being handled effectively and it is impacting the teachers ability to educate the students. Entire classes are
... Read more being punished for an individual's behavior. Students are being asked to report anything and everything, this is creating animosity. The school is not large enough to offer internal advanced curriculum and the administration is not willing to consider alternatives that would challenge these students. There is no music program, limited physical education and art classes. Limited extracurricular sports. The teachers really care about the kids but are having problems with students which the administration will not handle effectively. ... Read more etc. The administration spends a great deal of time in backpedal mode, revising previously stated policy, from dress code to curriculum requirements. There is no homework hotline, the web page is not kept updated, and the teachers are ineffective in providing information to parents due to their being buried in administrative paperwork. In short, GCS needs to review/revise its policies regarding communication, parental involvement, and curriculum. One of the disturbing aspects of the school is the impression that female students and athletes are not as important as their male counterparts. This is a mentality that is destructive in education. Granger Christian School offers a curriculum which concentrates on what a college or univerity wants to see: knowledge of core subjects. GCS could offer more 'fluff' courses (PHM Schools comes to mind!), but most colleges would prefer to see a strong performance on SAT and ACT tests. Granger Christian

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
"Extended day" programs where the school day is extended before and after school to accommodate working parents. These programs should not be confused with common after school clubs or athletic activities.
