We have 3 children in this great school system and they have all benefited from the ethics, morals, and academics. Our children's confidence has risen significantly since their enrollment in Blackhawk. The financial sacrifice has been well worth it. We LOVE this School. GO Braves! :)

... Read more the school were very supportive and loving. Partnering with BCS in educating my children has been the best thing I could have done. It is a great sacrifice financially to have 4 children at BCS because I'm disabled but it is well worth every sacrifice. It isn't perfect but no school is. For us it has been a huge blessing. We have put three children through BCS from Kindergarten on up. Two have graduated and one is enjoying yet another solid year. It is an immense sacrifice to do this, yet we obviously believe in the value of our investment. We found one of the other 'reviews' disturbing but not surprising. The school
... Read more is not meant to be a replacement for the family, but an extension of it. We have found that generally, the philosophy and policies at BCS reflect our own. We do not expect BCS to raise our kids the way the government schools think they should. Our children have gotten an excellent education at BCS. Read less

This school has problems like any other school, especially because people look at it as a 'reform school' for their kids who get kicked out of public schools. But, Blackhawk opens its arms to those kids that are viewed as 'problem kids' at other schools. That has its negatives, but my 3 children have

The wonderful, lasting relationships and work ethic ideals they've gained in their 34 combined years at Blackhawk are seen as invaluable. My rating on the school is very low. The principal had no idea what was going on under his own nose. The cheating problem was out of control. Substance abuse was a growing problem that Longbrake did not want to deal with or chose to ignore. Even though this was supposed to be a christian school,
... Read more ethics, morality, and simple christians truths were not being upheld. Of course, there were the few exceptions in the school -- I can recall a few teachers that were top notch. But there were those who chose to have their favorites or turn their heads and look the other way. Academically, the school was perhaps slightly above public school. The advantage they had over public was the student to teacher ratio. As for culturally diverse, they made no attempt to teach other cultures, and it is primarily a white school. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
