As a graduate of this school in 2004, and a current student of one of the best schools in Indiana, Purdue University, I can honestly say as a top student in my class, South Central did a horrible job preparing me for what I would face in the future.

South Central is an excellent school. It is comprised of caring teachers, well behaved students, and a community that instills solid values in its children. The only truly missing ingredient is parents that get involved in their students academic well-being. Parental support is no problem when it comes
... Read more to sports, but when it comes to academics, not many parents get involved in their kids education. If SC parents supported academics to the extent that they support the sports programs, SC would be a top notch Indiana high school. Still, it is a great school, one that the community should be proud of. Read less

im not a parent im a student and i belive this school is GREAT.... are sports program is excellent! And pretty much every student gets good grades... Thats thanks to a lot of diff. teachers... without them pushing us to get where we are, we would probly be no where! Although we may not be able to listen

Read more to mp3 players, cd players or whatever while we are in class, but there are really good reasons for that.... im al so an athlete we dont have hot headed coaches we have coaches that care rather we are good or not.. Overall I am very impressed with South Centrals academics. Both of my children do very well in school and I owe thanks to their wonderful teachers. The only thing that I have a problem with is the sports program. I believe that the fun has been taken out of sports by hot headed coaches who do not
... Read more care if the children are having fun they just want them to win. My son came home crying after every baseball game last season because he was never picked to be one of the 5 children that are always picked for the good positions. These coaches are supposed to be role models for our children and some of the fits I have seen them throw is definately not being role models. South Central teachers are wonderful and my children have benefited from them so much. As for sports we need more mature nonarrogant coaches. Read less

* In 2011-2012 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English/language arts and math, grades 4 and 6 in science, and in grades 5 and 7 in social studies. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
