Solon Robinson sets very high standards for their students and they have a very good record. However I believe that they put too much pressure on the students. Solon is a great school. My daughter has attended for 3 years now and every teacher she has had is wonderful. The teachers are caring and very hard working. It was with great interest that I read the comments dated November and December 2005. I have served as the Principal of Solon Robinson Elementary School for the past 5 years, and I can personally testify to the honesty, dedication, and concern the staff has for their students. First of all, our lunchroom

There have been no students who have reported illness after eating a school lunch. Second, I believe the custodial staff works extremely hard in making sure both the building and grounds are well-maintained. It is my job to make sure that the school is safe and well-maintained. Third, I would like to comment on the Parent Teacher Organization. Our PTO Executive Board is voted upon by the General Assembly. They are not an elitist group of individuals. The PTO officers are elected for a two year term. In fact, in May board elections will be held. I invite anyone intersted in running for vacant board positions to come to the May General PTO meeting. In closing, I believe your comments have done Solon a disservice. Perhaps, you have written the comments because you have been misinformed. I trust that any future comments will reflect all of the facts. As always, my office door is open for students and parents. Barbara L. Merrill Principal Read less
