I graduated from the old Crown Point High School. I had my shared of good teachers and bad teachers. I think that's normal for every school. I have heard so many bad things from parents and from students since the new school has been up. I personally think that the school is too big now. The teacher's
... Read more are probably getting flustered and can't help the way they use due to the increase in children. I know that I was disapointed (and I'm not the only one) when I heard they were putting so much money into the sports area of the school. CP was origionally know for it's music and arts. I think that they should have left well enought alone. They should have put more money into music and arts and education development rather than the sports stuff. Read less

I can understand why kids don't like Crown Point High School. As a parent, there is a rule book, that is supposed to be followed, and many of the teachers send the kids home with signature pages and contracts for the student and the parents to sign. Somewhere in the middle of the year those 'contracts'

No wonder kids want to drop out, if I am being treated this badly, how are my kids being treated? My advice to everyone, enroll your kids somewhere else. Stay away from Crown Point High School. No kid really likes their school, but I absolutey cannot stand Crown Point High School. There are far too many students, which was very very distracting for me. ... Read more I get good grades, but something about the high school just makes me want to walk out at any given moment. Don't get me wrong, most of the staff there are very caring and actually have respect for us students, maybe it's just the ridiculous, unruly, drama-causing students that I don't like. Crown Point was an amazing school for me, I loved ever day, the teachers made class enjoyable and I loved being part of the music department. CPHS prepared me for college very well. well of corse i'm going to say that i hate my school, but when it comes down to it cphs is a pretty amazing school to attend...first of all it's HUGE! and getting bigger, plus for the most part the teachers are wonderful (there are some that i would be fine not seeing everyday) :D like every other school

Read more the food isn't the best and the gym sometimes has a weird smell coming from it, but cphs is known for their athletics oh and their french fries! most of the students are ready to learn when they show up for school everyday, and the others are ready to go by at least 10! but seriously i guess it isn't that bad considering some of the others i could be forced to go to instead! My daughter is a freshmen at crown point and she loves it. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and you will always find a good friend. Also, the teachers are very dedicated to ther work. They are not the type that are there just to get a paycheck. They care about there job and about the students that go

As a current student at CPHS, I feel that the school offers very challenging academics and will greatly prepare me for college. However, I feel that the school, specifically the administration, neglect the music department and alienate the students involved in that department.

* In 2008-2009 Indiana used the Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress-Plus (ISTEP+) assessment to test students in grades 3 through 10 in English/language arts and math, and in grades 5 and 7 in science. The ISTEP+ is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Indiana. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
