My daughter just graduated from Ursuline Academy and I am very pleased with the level of education she received. I also have a younger daughter currently attending Ursuline and compared other small Christian based schools, I feel Ursuline is ahead in academics .

What a shame! I was so excited when my child enrolled and quickly became an active parent. The teaching staff has dwindled to just a few, and the extracurricular activities are below par. The laptop program was non-existant even though we overpaid for a junk computer.

... Read more disappointed now. The computer isn't even taken to school! When it was it was for chatting and downloading! I also am disappointed in the fact that my daughter has not learned what a parabola, hyperbola, or even how to determine the area of a cylinder in her geometry class. Teachers are leaving constantly. I am an alumni of Ursuline Academy. As many teens, I entered unstructured and without great ambition. By the time I graduated I had developed skills that made me not only structured and ambitious but well prepared. Many of the classes here made college courses a breeze. ... Read more officer and attribute much of my structured success to my second to none high school education. For students who are sports enthusiast they offer some sports programs but the main focus is academia. It is a bit costly but high a probability that the student will be able to get into the college they choose. However no worries about your student slacking off. If you dont maintain a certain GPA, the parents are constantly apprised and the student is placed on academic probation. They also send home progress reports to parents if your child's grades drop, and trust me - it is almost impossible to skip school and not get caught here. The classes sizes are great and students get more individual attention. The school offers enrollment for Catholic students and at a slightly higher rate for non-catholics. Tuition is costly for high school but worth the investment. Read less

The academics at Ursuline are outstanding. Most of the staff are so knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach that it is nearly impossible to not become interested in some aspect of the class. They are very good at picking out each students interests and really shaping the lessons around them.
... Read more I, of course, did not appreciate this until I got into college and breezed through most of it. I was in my Lit. class today and everyone in the class was struggling; after class the teacher called me up and asked why I had nothing to add today when everyone was asking questions about Greek drama. I explained to her that I had studied all this prior to college and she was impressed. Same goes for math, history, theology, and humanities classes. Also, the fine arts extra curricular programs are dazzling. They have a play, a musical, one-act play festival, and several chances for music and art students to show off their talents as well. I would definitely recommend this school to any child whose into learning and the arts. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
