... Read more teachers picked right up on it and started him in a special reading program that really helped get him up to speed. All of the staff have had have been very involved in wanting to see my kids (and everyone' else's) succeed and helping them towards that goal. The PTO makes sure the kids aren't out there fundraising, instead we have fun fairs and a big dinner dance to raise funds. I love this school and while our taxes are high, I feel I am getting my money's worth. Read less

The teachers at this school are wonderful. It is evident they have a strong desire to serve the children and the community. Our school is great and love our teachers! We re having budget problems and are headed for more cuts, but we are making the best of it. Our principal has given his 2 year retirement notice, which because of large raises for retiring, will take away much needed funds from our students, but we are glad
... Read more to seem him go. Our superintendent and principal both need to go. Our superintendent has been very divisive for our school district. The superintendent and our principal live in another state and don t care about our financial situation. Our School Board doesn t seem to know what they are doing awarding expensive contracts, expensive fringe benefits, and giving 60 sick days to administrators because there wasn t money for large raises. We will have 4 new school board members in the spring and hopefully this will help the situation. We have the best PTO in Illinois! Read less

This is the best elementary school imaginable. The PTO of this school is soooo involved. Every year they have a Dinner Dance for the parents with silent auctions and have rasied over 25k from just one of them. The teachers care so much about our children that prior to the school year the kids receive
... Read more post cards from their new teacher telling them how much they are looking forward to having them in their class. How wonderful is that? I would recommend this school to any parent. Some of the extra programs they have are a gifted program, a storytelling program(free for kids by the pto),they put on a program for grandparents as well as the usual holiday etc. Anytime there is a concern in our community a letter gets sent home to the parents. Advanced Placement
