I am a parent of one graduating student and two other students who will be graduating in 2006. I was somewhat disappointed with lack of preparation regarding life skills with respect to my eldest child. The school does have some dedicated teachers as well as those who are racist. But, that exists

I went to Stagg and graduated in 2002. I feel that in some areas Stagg very much prepared me for college, and in others it dreadfully failed. Overall, it is alright, but I think there are a lot of things that could be improved. For one thing I think most of the student responses on here about the
... Read more school are very short sighted. I never had anything but problems with the majority of counselors at Stagg. Most of the time they were just lazy or unwilling to help. Also, it is clear that the student responses on here make me wonder too, when they mispell numerous, rather easy words. I am a senior at U of I now and thought my experience at Stagg was a positive one, but in my opinion the school has gone somewhat downhill since then. Read less

These students who are mentally and physically inable to take tests are given the same test as a student in all AP and Honors Courses. I believe that the poor test scores show nothing about the school as a whole. Read less

The teachers are inquisive and probing; they know how to ask the right questions so that the students may find the answers within themselves. I'm a member of the Varsity Badminton Team (yes, it IS a sport) and many of my other friends are in band, Color Guard, Scholastic Bowl, Tennis, Drama Club. Stagg is amazing. I feel safe in school and I know that I've been well prepared for college. On a side note, our principal is a fascinating man. He taught at a school in the Congo...in French! Read less

Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
