I am a college student on the path of procuring my B.A. in early education. To fulfill some of my course requirements I was approved to observe, 'student teach' and get some internship hours done at Fox Chase School. Each experience has been positive in all respects. The office staff warmly greeted

The principal made impromptu visits to the classrooms and shared encouraging words with both the teachers and the children. The librarians get the children excited about reading. The students seem eager to attend and get involved. Fox Chase is a high caliber school and I am glad it is where my neighbors send their children for a quality education. Read less

Having lived in the district 308 school district for 8 years now I have been able to see how 4 of the elementary schools have been run. Due to boundry changes and a move my children are now at Fox Chase. I am utterly suprised at the complete difference from the 3 other elementary school I have dealt
... Read more with. Fox Chase seems completly unorganized. What I have seen so far is a complete dissapointment. District 308 is a great district but this school needs immediate attention. The faculty (but not all) pay less attention to the students and seem to think it is 'social' time. They huddle together at recess, pay no attention to children. Teachers seem to have lost intrest in 'TEACHING', rather focus on getting by. The principal does not compare to any other principal in the district. I think the super intendant needs to look closely at FoxChase! Read less

In reading some of these reviews, I am appalled!! Never in my 4 years of having students enrolled in Fox Chase, have I encountered 1 negative experience. Mrs. Tiedt is an excellent Principal, and yes, there have been many changes at Fox Chase, that comes along with the continous growth we have all

Although the class sizes have gotten a bit larger, we now have our Art and Music Rooms back, and the kids love it!!! Come this time next year we will even be able to spread out a bit more with our new addition that will be started soon. Parents who are thinking about moving into this school, have no fear!! Your kids will love it here!!! Read less

We moved to Oswego after an extensive school search. If we could do it all over again, we would have never moved to the town. A significant decline in the quality and safety of this school. Decisions are never made; incidents are only 'investigated' with no outcome seemingly due to the fact that everyone

The students are not taught to be kind to each other. If one is being picked on it seems like it's no big deal. I would not reccomend this school to anyone coming in. Art on a cart...come on. With the high property tax you would think the schools would be great but this one is not. Think before you send

Music and Art are 'on a cart'. Overall the school is not the same as it used to be. the principal and asst principal now spend more time with administration and it appears less time with the kids. A leather couch in the library with the kids? come on now. I cant pinpoint it, but it certainly has

Do not like the new art curriculum for the class my child is in. No art room. Excellent library. Great teachers overall. The current principal and asst principal are not as good as in the past - just my opinion. They seem to stay behind closed doors alot more. They dont participate in games as

* In 2007-2008 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
