... Read more part of school is the Fremont Outdoor Learning Environment. As the school backs up to Forest Preserve land, the outdoors become become their classroom in the FOLE. They get to learn about the world around them not just in a classroom, but outside! Nature walks, wildlife, everything you can imagine with acres of land to explore as a class. Students also participate in daily P.E and a weekly rotation of Computers/Technology, Media Center, Music and Art classes. Class options abound with options for Full-day kindergarten, Multi-age classrooms and loop classrooms. We moved to Mundelein never expecting to have a child in the school system. When my adult daughter and her baby moved in with us I was clearly nervous about the school and what kind of experience my granddaughter would have there. We were delighted!! I have three children at Fremont, one in each building. This is a very academically driven school with a strong emphasis on testing, testing, testing. Some student will be map tested up to 4 times a year! Expect ISAT 'homework' instead of regular lessons the week before testing. All of that is fine,
... Read more my only growing concern that I have noticed with the last 10 years we have been there is that culture/climate is stressed at school. Character counts is a weak program that adminstration and staff overly count on. And bullying definitely is an issue in all three buildings. For good and for bad it is a very parent involved school. I have children at both the elementary school and the intermediate school. The experience for both children has been outstanding. The principal at the elementary is warm and friendly. She makes a point of getting to know the children and the children love her. The school promotes a sense of fun,

I have one child currently enrolled in Fremont Elementary, and one child who was a student from kindergarten through 2nd grade. The atmosphere is amazing. Kids are encouraged to have fun while learning. Teachers encourage the students through fun rewards programs, projects, and excellent teaching

I have 2 children in this school and have been very pleased with not only the academics, which are outstanding, by the alternative means of learning with the map program, but also the dedication of the staff, to the school spirit, after school and summer programs, parental involvement and on and on.

The drivers are Fremont parents which makes me feel more secure that another mom is taking my kids to school: a mom whose kids play with and know my kids every single day. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
