Our family tried endlessly to stay involved with our childrens education throughout the years and were constantly shut out by this school system. We have had 3 children go through Northbrook School and have been nothing but pleased. I don't know where the criticism of the 6th grade team comes from. We found them to be most helpful and always ready to help our children whenever they needed help. We have a special needs child and they bent over
... Read more backwards to help him and keep us up to date. If the parent is involved they are more than willing to help work with the family. The principal can be a bit aloof, but she is very involved with the students. We are very, very pleased with the education our children have recieved and continue to receive. Read less

I could not agree anymore my chils was an A B student until we moved here from out of state. Her work load is rediculous and hardly any communication with teachers. The curriculum and set up is to say the least poposterous!

... Read more than available to help. I also do my part as a parent to help my children be successful. I randomly check the homework hotline and I make sure that my children are doing their homework on a daily basis. I feel that if more parents would do their part and not always point the finger at the teachers that more students would be successful. I always remember that I have two children to worry about and teachers have approximately 150 students to oversee. Read less

I feel that the teachers and the principal are not involved with the wellbeing of the students. There is a major problem with bulling and that causes a major issue with safety. there is a major lack of discipline with in the school system also. I also feel that no matter how much a parent is involved

I have 2 children that attend this school. I find the teaching methods completely ridiculous. The 6th grade team is a joke and aren't willing to help the children succeed. The principal is an uncaring and uninvolved individual. One of my kids is bullied so bad she is segregated from the rest of her peers.
... Read more She is punished not the bullys? I wouldn't recommend this school to any newcomers. It's overcrowded and run by junior high kids. My son is getting 3 F's on his report card and he's never had these grades in the past...If you want your kid fail this is the school for you Read less

I do not believe the principal or teachers are very fair at this school. They are only interested in the kids whom they don't have to work with as much. All of my children 3 girls 1 son (with autism) attended Northbrook School and I think they are wonderful, The teachers, The teacher helpers and the Principal's. Having a son with Autism is not a fun thing, But having the help to get through it is wonderful. I really think they do an outstanding Job.....

I have nothing but good things to say about Northbrook School and I belive that I am receiving a quality education. The sixth grade teachers are really helping us kids reach our full potential. They make everything clear and easy to understand. They always find easy ways to help us remember important

All teachers have excellent control over the students, but we are no longer treated like kindergartners and given a much needed sense of freedom while still getting work done. Advanced Placement
