Kennedy is a very good school. Because of the community it serves and composition there of (parents' education, racial diversity, income level etc) the students do well compared to other schools. Also the school hosts a specilized program called PI+ where the top 2% of students from all other schools
... Read more in the district attend this program. The parents are very involved through SFCP. If you are looking for individualized attention you have to work with teachers and they are nice enough to accommodate. Read less

I am a teacher at Kennedy Jr. High and I love my job. I look forward to coming to work each day and love making a difference in the lives of the students whom I not only teach, but come in contact with each day. The parents in this community are very involved in the education process. At Kennedy the
... Read more parent volunteers go above and beyond to make a difference for the students and staff at the school. The students learn the importance of working collaboratively, thinking critically and producing quality work. For those students who are identified as needing extra support, our administration provides us with the resources and programs needed to help these students become more successful. Overall, the character of the students is tremendous. They partake in an assortment of community service projects and the number of 'Thank yous' that I hear per day is tremendous. Read less

Kennedy is the MAGNET SCHOOL for the truly gifted kids in District 203. All test scores and ratings are therefore skewed heavily upward. The program is called PI+ in District 203.

Kennedy Jr. High was recently named a Blue Ribbon School. This honor is conected with No Child Left Behind. That means that many of the students scored well on standardized tests (i.e., IGAP, ISAT, Iowa, etc.). High standardized test scores do not tell the whole story, just a small piece of it.

I was initially concerned with the size of the school. Based upon two years of experience, I find the school excellent overall. The principal and teachers are proud of the students' high level of achievement. The students are well behaved, especially for a school so large. There are plenty of activities

Kennedy is overrated in our estimation, since it is very large and many students seem to 'fall through the cracks' of the bureaucracy. It has some very strong, focused students who achieve very well on standardized tests, but for the remaining 80% of the students, many resources (especially individualized

Kennedy, as most of the Naperville schools, are very overrated and the PR the schools buy, the awards it applies for, and the mass marketing to the community and elsewhere is not realistic. Read less

Kennedy is a superb school administered by the nationally-recognized Naperville School Dist. 203. On the other hand, the school faces minor overcrowding issues, but its strong academic performance overpowers its minor problems by far. Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
