I'm a current benet junior. When considering high schools as an eigth grader, benet was low on my list. I thought of benet students as rich snobs. When I started at benet, however, I was suprised at how wrong I was! I was in band, and everytime we went out to eat or just to hang out, all the upperclassman

I am a recent graduate of the Academy and a current college freshman. I can say honestly that I did not want to leave Benet at all. I thoroughly enjoyed all four years that Benet offered. I went through some tough times in terms of school, but in the end I have become a more disciplined and harder worker

The teachers love working at Benet and most stay upwards of 25 years. It is a tremendous atmosphere to learn in. it does have its flaws though. As with any private school there is going to be some cliques and social problems, but it works itself out in the end. Benet is the best school for your child. Read less

Benet's secret is its atmosphere. Is it too homogeneous? Yes, definitely. Do public schools have more money to spend? Absolutely, look at your tax bill. Does that let them offer a greater variety of programs? You bet. But what Benet does it does extraordinarily well, in my opinion. Benet is filled

Benet is a good school, but highly overrated. The atmosphere is very judgmental and cliques control most of the school (much of this is based on family income). I know many students who feel somehow inferior because 'it is all about money'. We have a Benet grad in our family, and grads from local public

Benet has a 'status' (earned or not), tough classes, and religious education. Much of the 'Benet mystique' is hurtful, however, because it is based on economic status. The school was better twenty years ago, when it was not based on money, and when it had a more caring focus for students. Read less

I am currently a junior at Benet Academy. I came across this site while working on a project for my religion class.
