I was surprised by the review that academics suffer after pre-school. The kindergarten program and beyond uses curriculum literally one full grade ahead of all other area curricula in math, science and reading. It focuses on time tested tools that get the job done. ... Read more children in other grades and their ability to read, write, think and articulate is beyond their peers. My student placed into third year high-school Spanish Honors due to the Spanish program. My student also place into Algebra 2, Trig and all Honors courses in English, Social Studies and Science. The program at East Lake Academy is no doubt rigorous but what is even more profound is that the students are well formed in public speaking, leadership skills, and mostly they KNOW their faith and why they believe what they believe. The students are NOT afraid to serve and they actually lead the charge when called. Let's face it, It is hard work for a parent to support such an education it asks everyone to step up! Read more years class got scholarships to most of their chosen high schools, tested out of freshmen classes, will play on sports teams as freshmen AND my child tested into ALL honors courses at Loyola ! The other local/private schools can't necessarily say that. As for classes are to small....now that everyone is seeing the results of ELA, the lower grades are full with wait lists and the upper grades are getting bigger as the years go on. Frankly my kids love the small classes with strong attention on each student. My graduate is friends with all of the kids in his class ...male and female , there is no division like you usually see in teens in the other schools. Best of all in a small school everyone knows you and your siblings, your parents, even the grandparents ...it's fantastic . I wish every child had the opportunity to attend such an outstanding school. Read less

The preschool is great, but the quality of academics suffer as the child moves out of preschool. Average academics compared to surrounding schools. Lacking especially in language arts and creative writing. The classes and the school are so small that some children may feel suffocated or over-analyzed.

This school is beyond my wildest dreams ! If I could list everything I could ever want for my children in a place where they will be from ages 4-14 , 10 months out of the year, 5 days a week, and 7 plus hours a day this school surpasses it one million times. I don't even need to talk about it publically

This is our first year at East Lake Academy. Our son is in PK4 and so far we absolutely LOVE our experience. ... Read more our children to be the best versions of themselves they can possible be. In the early years, we had concerns about lack of sports, art, etc.... Currently all the concerns we've ever had have been addressed. The school has been blessed with an overwhelming interest in it. As the school has grows it keeps getting better. Academically - the test results speak for themselves. As for the rest of the child's formation - visit the school and meet the students. You'll see why East Lake is so special. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
