... Read more be. The quality of academic programs might not be the best in the area, compared to Libertyville or Buffalo Grove, but it is still good and it is improving every year. We have an excellent music program. There are 4 ability based bands and 3 choirs. I am in the top band and choir and it is truly a valuable experience. The school offers so many extracurricular activities, and anyone can get involved if they wanted to. Parents are usually very active. This is a great school! Read less

When my child started Woodland 3 years ago I was nervous, Middle Schoolers are difficult and this is an enormous school. I liked the early schools, but hadn't heard much about Middle School. Now my child is about to graduate I have to say I've been very happy here. The advanced classes are excellent
... Read more particularly the Language Arts program. We have had only a few teachers that were less than effective but the core classe teachers have been great. They work in teams and the teams are well balanced. Some teachers are outstanding in finding new and creative ways to inspire kids. In particular Mrs. Shinners/Language Arts, Mr. Haines/Social Studies, and Mr. Noll/Math deserve recognition for keeping interesting. It's a big school so drugs, and teen sexuality have been an issue for a small %, but it is safe a beautiful school. Communication about school activities is one are for improvement. Read less

School is huge with 2 Principals. Easy to get lost (physically and mentally).If student isn't average or above, they can easily fall through the cracks. My son had too many new or harsh/strict teachers for an ADD kid. They don't really offer much help, unless there's a severe learning disability or mental

I am a student at woodland middle school and enjoy it very much there! All of my teachers help me to be better in every way possible. There are many extra curricular activities, actualy there are so many sometimes it is a little bit overwhelming because of how much you can do! My mom is very involved

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
