I further find it extremely false that children are not successful at performing as above average learner. It is not the administrator, nor the teacher;s job to be the sole education resource. Parents are the first teachers!! Having two children upleveled, in advanced and gifted classes; it is how you best utilize resources available. Flossmoor Hills is an outstanding school that has overcome the obstacle of inconsistent leadership and prides itself in remarkable PTO participation in addition to enhanced learning environment and superior instructional teaching from veteran educators. I have two children at FH who have scored above average on the ISAT for the last 2 years. My one child scored at the 98th percentile last year in reading and math. The school does a poor job at managing and protecting students from violence and hostility. In addition the school performs poorly at developing above average children. I have two children at FHS who are doing extremely well and are scoring well above the state norms. During my 4 years of involvement with FHS the teachers have been EXCELLENT and the curriculum has been challenging. Parental support is very high and our PTO is arguably most active in District 161. Despite constant roadblocks set up by the District 161 School Board FHS has, and is still excelling due to a strong group of professional, educated, and dedicated parents who are serious about their childrens education. I really had a bad experience with FH when I transfered my child in during her 4th grade year. My daughters teacher gave an absurd amount of homework and her teaching stye was not quite right. I will not be sending my child back there next year. My child was once an honor roll student but now she hates

FH is truly a great school. There have been problems with administration changes and retention of teachers in recent years, however as of now, things are really turning around. There are many opportunities available for students and families to interact with one another and the teachers are very involved.

Advanced Placement
