My daughter is a freshman at DHS and she absolutely loves it. She can't wait to go to school and I love to see that enthusiasm. No matter what class level you take, it will prepare you for college because that is one of the goals of the school. Another great thing about the school is that everyone has at least one friend because all of the students are very nice to each other, also because there are a bunch of people who are into the same things. About extracurricular activities all I can say is that you can be involved in just about anything you could imagine, and if there is something that the school doesn't have, I believe students can organize clubs and activities, if a teacher sponsers it. The only negative aspect of Deerfield, in my mind, is the lack of diversity. With 96% of the student body being white it is hard to interact with different kinds of people. Read less

Both of my girls graduated from Deerfield High in the past 4 years. I have to say if the student wants to excell in any subject it is there for them. ... Read more school has an excellent peer tutoring program where upper classmen assist under classmen in preparing and understanding the coursework. Deerfield which is ranked high in the state academically hasn't forgotten about the average student. Advanced Placement
