I feel that much has changed for the better since I attended, and there is a great effort on the part of the parents, teachers and School Board to provide more opportunities for our children to excel in this competitive society. Because enrollment is very small there is a chance for students to get individual attention from the teachers. They learn discipline and respect and show it with good sportsmanship at volleyball tournaments. Compared to other catholic elementary schools, St. Nicholas is very reasonable. Read less

My sister attended St. Nicholas and she and 6 of her classmates just graduated from St. Ignatius College Prep. Now my daughter is in Pre-K at St. Nicholas, she has Aproxia, a learning disability. Within one year, she has shown great progress due to the excellent teaching and the one on one attention

I attended St. Nicholas for one year and it was one of the worst educational years of my academic career.The school seemed respectable from a brief visit however attending the school was a different matter.The teachers ranged from unqualified to uninterested.After attending the school I felt completley

Read more unprepared for high school and fell behind my freshman year because of the lack of teaching at the school.The ammount of homework was ridiculous.There was a strong emphasis on being Ukrainain and students who did not speak the language were treated at a poorer standard.The religious studies program seemed unethical at times because of the unopeness to other beliefs and discrimination to other cultures and religions. In addition the school was uncomfortable during the winter months so students were forced to wear coats and gloves in the classroom because the rooms were not properly heated. The school is underfunded and has little to offer to a gifted child. There are almost no extracurricular activiites and students who are not 100% Ukrainian are treated differently. New teachers rarely stay more than a year. Expect excessive homework evenings and weekends and inconsistent grading standards.

The School is was too expenive. My child didn't like the school at all. The teachers may have children in school, or other connections with the other students.Those kids were the ones getting the main part in plays and other school projects. I do not recomend this school.

The student: teacher ratio is 15, thus maintaining and building on a strong one-one relationship with students. They greatly benefit from the solid academic program and they consistently achieve excellent scores on national achievement tests. The Varsity and Jr. Varsity girl volleyball teams - Angels - continue to place 2nd in their divisions! AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
