She s been an okay addition to the staff but I feel she needs to be more authoritative with the staff and a bit warmer to the parents. I have mixed feelings about St. Johns. While my kids were in the primary grades I loved it. However, this passed year has been anything but. I feel like a certain teacher in an intermediate grade is just not doing her job well! I feel that more should be done to get away with just focusing reading instruction
... Read more using only a basel program. There has to be more literature used as well. Teaching children how to read is not enough. Standardized testing today requires them to also be able to think critically about the text as well. Unfortunately, that is not what was taught this pass year, but she did come home with pretty pictures!! I just hope this is not a sigh of what's to come. After researching an exhaustive list of schools, I finally started touring my top choices. It sounds hard to describe, but the 'feel' of St. John Berchmans was just right for my family. My daughter is going to attend PreK3 in the fall. She is currently in the summer camp program and we loveit. She goes everyday from 9am to 3pm and spends the rest of the day telling me about all the fun she's had. Its entirely play based and the faculty is excellent. Everyday when I drop her off
... Read more they tell me about her friends and her interactions and again when I pick her up they give me individual highlights of her day. Its amazing. Granted, there are only five students per teacher during camp but its still an indication of their love for teaching and their dedication to individual students. I'm so happy we found St John's. My son graduated from St. John Berchmans School and is a sophmore at Quigley. My twin daughters attend St. John Berchmans and they love it because individuality and respect is taught daily in their curriculum. My children have scored in the 90 percentile in the Terra Nova standard test. Music,art,religion

I would encourage parents to call and visit the school on a school day. I did it! Safety and security was a concern of mine. Before school and after school daycare is available from 7:00am - 6:00pm. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
