There is no ability for teachers to use creative methods or to make learning more interesting-- many teachers rely heavily on worksheets

Adminstration is kind of high on themselves and their 'wonderful' reputation and seem to think as long as everyone is sitting in their seat and not causing problems, that means it is a quality education. The leadership of the principal is phenomenal. The high energy level of the teaching staff is hard to match in other CPS. The price of afterschool program is no different from what is offered in other CPS. However, the variety is better than most CPS schools.

* In 2006-2007 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math and students in grades 4 and 7 in science. The reading and math results are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The ISAT is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Illinois. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

you compare similar schools in this district or area. For example, a rating of 8 indicates that, on average, students in
this school scored better than 70% of the students in the state on the same tests. We have indicated below which tests

experience, academic programs, extracurricular activities, resources for special needs students, etc. These ratings are
not provided by the state Department of Education, which may have their own rating systems.
