I believe children need balance and need to be critical thinkers, creative and computer savvy. Being computer literate is no longer a thing of the past or optional. We receive information on everything else, fundraiser's and market day updates up the wazoo, yet nothing about the computer class if I had not asked I would have never known. I happen to agree with both of you. Children need balance, as long as they are meeting/ exceeding the state standards, then why not challenge them in other subject area's. What the shame here is that this other parent doesn't understand that the school is a fine and performing art school. Yes, unfortunately some changes have to be made, but I feel the school made them with the best interest of the students in mind.
