The work is very challenging and brings out the best in the students. Hopefully Beasley will stop paying the main office staff to be rude to parents. Overall, Beasley is still distinguished with academic values but the classes are too large. Read less

My little sister attend this school and I feel the teachers are stern and straight foward, She has shown great improvement and seems to be enjoying Beasley quite well. I believe its one of the best schools in chicago!!

I enjoyed Beasley alot..I am a former student class of 2008...I was in every club, sport, and activity and still able to manage an a and b report card in 8th grade...Beasley has prepared me for my future, becuase of this school i was able to get in one of the top schools in the city. I am a current parent and former Beasley Bee and I think the school is doing a great job at providing quality education for our children. There is always going to be a person where ever you go who has a complaint or issue but do you become a part of the problem or the solution? I wished we as parents

All our children are gifted...it is up to us to nuture them as best we can with what we have and Beasley allows top quality education in a public school enviornment. Beasley is not what it used to be. Six years ago it would have been seen as 'the school of distinction' but not now. The staff are very rude. My daughter attended the 3yr old class at Beasley Child-Parent Center. As a first time mom it was extremely frustrating when I began my search for school after dayare to find that most PreK programs are half days and technically I'm not sure of how 8-10:30a w/breakfast and lunch qualifies for a half
... Read more day, but that's how it goes at Beasley. I feel that she did learn a great deal because she's smart and eager to learn. She was so excited her first day. I guess I was suprised at how many children were not at all looking forward to separating from their parent. As long as she was sure that I was coming back for her, she was all good. The only real problem for myself was that the 1st teacher started out w/was awesome.But she left. I wish they had more classroom time, but overall she's excelling well. Read less

Beasley the 'School of Distinction' isn't what it used to be. My son attended the school for first, and second grade and both times I was disappointed. The teachers are lazy, and always absent. They never have a regular curriculum for the substitute to follow. The administration invites you to participate
... Read more in your child's education, but when you start asking questions about homework, graded assignments, and the teachers attendance you are a problem. Your child may benefit from this school if he/she is considered gifted, but an average child doesn't stand a chance. As far as music, art, sports, and other extracurricular activities, they are available, but the younger children really aren't benefiting. Spanish and swimming was a joke, along with piano and the lunch was always horrible. These words come from two very involved parents who were not looking for perfection, but dedication. Read less

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
