Being a senior at BHS I pretty much know whats up at this school. For the most part, the teachers are great. There are the few who are not exceptional but is there a school that is perfect? ... Read more concerns or schedule changes. The building itself is kind of rundown. We don't have all of the new stuff that the new school has but it is not like Bhs is dilapitated or anything. The best part of the building is its performing arts center. The school has a great arts program. I dont know much about the sports program but football is a big deal here Read less

I personally think Belvidere High School is a good school for regular kids. Some families simply can't afford the great quality and very expensive schools. We have 3 children that have passed through Belvidere High School so far, and I think children can exceed at Belvidere if they take advantage of what the school offers and avoid trouble. None of them got in fights (all of them are boys), and I found the teachers and coaches to be personally interested

Our oldest son had mono freshman year, and was out for 4 months, and the school saw to it that a tutor came every night and brought his homework back and forth, he even took his finals at home. He kept his grades up the entire time, and returned to school healthy and up to speed with the other kids. He could not have done this without the help of a caring staff. Again, children get what they put into their high school experience at Belvidere. Read less

I was in Belvidere schools from kindergarten through High School, and I feel that the quality of education was minimal at best. Both my sister and I endured harshness from some of our teachers, and therefore enhanced our low self-esteem. In general, I feel that we would have done better in school,
... Read more had our teachers actually acted liked they cared about their students, rather than being so negative. Part of a teacher's job is to be a positive role model in a student's life. Not someone to consistently put a child down. We both turned out to be well adjusted young women, but through no contribution of the Belvidere School system. Read less

I have 2 children enrolled this year and 1 more going next year. I do not believe the teachers care enough about the kids. There are way to many fights in that school and we now have a lockdown in each classroom after the bell rings. I want a safe and caring enviroment for my kids and this definetely

Advanced Placement
