I am a former student at Althoff Catholic High School. I did not perticularly enjoy attending Althoff. My parents were paying close to $5,000 for average teachers, and a Catholic education that is poorly exibited throughout the school. Religion classes were a joke. I learned more studying by myself.
... Read more The teachers did not set a very good, Catholic/Christian examples, and they were the ones teaching the religion classes! The teachers were not very involved with their students while I was there. If I didn't understand something, I would have to teach myself. The extracurricular activites are lacking, basically because the school did not have the money to fund them. Parents want to see the school succeed, so that's a plus. All in all, Althoff would not be my first choice when looking at high schools in the Belleville/St. Louis area. Read less

... Read more learn, any school is a good school. When i tested at my former college, other students from public schools tested the same as i did. I think that it all depends on the person. But overall Althoff is great. The teachers really help you out in work. The counselors help you with college seeking. Everyone is just really nice. I felt like home there. If your sole reason for paying to go to this school is so that your child will learn more about religion don't bother. Just send your kid to East or West. Most religion classes were a joke, watching disney movies, etc. However the teachers are very personable and if the student wants to learn,

We trasnferred our child from a public high school and are thrilled with the level of parent involvement, the caliber of the students, and the quality and compassion of the teachers and staff at Althoff. Truly Catholic Education at it's finest. Our child was able to take most of the same courses
... Read more offered at local public high schools and honors courses (for which advanced GPA points and college credit is awarded) are even more accessible. All of the students I have met there show high levels of achievement and ambition. The homework load is reasonable, however. We don't feel that there is a lot of busy work. We are 100% satisfied with our tuition investment. Read less

We are a non-Catholic family with a daughter in freshan class. So far the school has been excellent. She is a high honor student taking all honors classes. Have a daughter in eighth grade, planning to send her there next year.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
