Bartelso Elementary is a fantastic school. As another reviewer posted, look at the test scores of our bright children! Our faculty is top notch and they all seem to feel very passionate about their school and the children in it. The school also has a wonderful PFC club that is responsible for funding

We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful school with wonderful teachers! Most of the teacher's are very thoughtful and are willing to help however they can. As a result, we have good kids getting good grades!

Bartelso Elementary is a great school, with students and teachers who care about education. The students get along well, work together and learn a great deal, in a clean, caring environment. The people here really care about the community and the people in it.

I read the review from June 2004 about religion classes offered to the students and I think a few important facts need to be stated! ... Read more coloring pictures of Jesus then they need to let someone know they do not want to participate in the program! You are given the option to participate, it is not mandatory. Yes, the majority of children are Roman Catholic but there are also many other denominations that attend our school but do not attend the religion program (their choice) and either arrive at 8:30 am (start of school) or can ride the bus and arrive at 7:30 am and have a free period from 7:30 - 8:30 am under supervision! I must admit that the school has an excellent academic record and a motivated team of educators. However, one issue I do have with Bartelso Elementary is the church sesssions they have in the mornings. Our student comes home with colorings of 'Jesus' and various other religious propanganda. I think it's unfortunate that such young impressionable children are being brainwashed at such a young age and are given no choice. Bottom line---if you are Catholic, this school is great for you. * In 2007-2008 Illinois used the Illinois Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, and in grades 4 and 7 in science. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
