I also disagree with the negative review posted on March 28, 2008. Both of my children have attended McCarty since Kindergarten (my youngest now in 5th grade) and it has been a wonderful experience. I feel the staff and administration go out of their way to create a safe and character driven environment

It is important for children to be taught how to resolve conflict. My oldest (now in middle school) and youngest both love McCarty and have have learned so much here-both academically and socially. Our school is rich in diversity and community - would not change a thing! Read less

I have a different opinion of the school as compared to the earlier one. We moved last year to this school in Aurora from another school in Naperville. I have been sorely disappointed by the Facaulty's display of the School and District's Standards. They look very appealing in print, however, they haven't atcually been expressed, by the Facaulty, in the same manner. The Facaulty, in particular, has left me with great concern for the safety of the

There was a Teacher, who my child has no subjects with, that just sent my child out the door to me without hesitation. This Teacher did not even know my child's name. I have also noticed a lot of, 'bullies,' attending this school. At first I wondered if there was an abundance of children with rough personal lives. Now I believe it has something to do with the way the Policies are enforced (or not so). Read less

The teachers really care about the students and advocate for them when they identify a children who is unchallenged or not keeping up and gets the right people in to address it. I can't say anything bad about it, except maybe the issue of air conditioning, but none of the elementary schools have AC at this time. They have whole building fans that help, though. Read less

There have been great teachers at McCarty, many though have transferred to others within the district or left to raise their families. Some current staff are wonderful and meet the needs of the individual student; others are unfortunately entrenched in their attitudes/procedures and ignore the real reasons
