By the time my son graduates, he will in no way have all he needs to even read or write. It is pretty sad. This is a great school and I don't care about what anybody else thinks. You need to go to this school to truly feel what we do. I honestly get a great education, have great opportunities for extra curricular activities and I think its worth having others frown upon us because they see the negativity

This school is known to have a bad reputation and I think its the time where us students show them that they are wrong! Honestly, its a good school. Waianae High is kicking it up a notch, meaning that we are making very positive changes- for example, our new bell schedule and our new hukilau policy.

I believe that there exists a fundamental flaw in the education system that passes along students and awards mediocre performance. My niece is a Senior with a 4.0 at Waianae and for the last two years I have seen first hand how just showing up to class, doing your homework and being able to outperform

However she is in no way ready for college and her writing, is that of a 6th grader, which is probably where the public school kids on the Westside begin to see an education system that is failing them. Parents should be outraged that the dumbing down of your children is allowing them to make poor decision and give up. Children deserve every advantage we can give them and the fact that this state allows for its future to be marginalized is sad and pathetic. Read less

We have such a good school. I am so proud of it. There are so many opportunities to do extra curricular activites and all the students are respectful to one another. Although we do have our share of arguments and fights overall waianae is the bomb! lol.

Waianae High School is not a bad school. There are kids in the school who are willing to learn while others could care less. As much bad credit that this school gets its not as bad as you think. I say this because i attend the school.

... Read more highly academically involved in their extracurricular activities. The staff/teachers show a lot of encouragement for the students to achieve their goals. The community also, shows great pride of this small neighborhood. They have programs which include the Searider Production,Marine Science, Business Industrial Engineering Technology, Health and Human Service which the whole community is proud of. There's a lot that this school has accomplished over the years since I've been in school in the 1980's. Read less
