All three of my children attended and graduated from Hanalani. It was a well rounded education academically and spiritually. The teachers were all very supportive. The math program in the upper school was excellent!

Our child attended this school for four elementary school years. While I will say that Hanalani excels academically, it only gets four stars because of their sometimes extreme discipline especially for little boys who already have difficulties with sitting still and being quite for long periods.
... Read more We always felt that our child was learning a lot more than others who attended public schools. Because it is religious based, our child learned to make better choices and now is a wonderful and bright middle schooler at another private school. Most of the faculty and administration were very friendly but one thing that bothered us somewhat was that many of the faculty are related which in some respects I considered a minus. We also felt that sometimes their religious beliefs interfered with ours. Read less

I am a parent of 3 Hananlani students, one has been there since PK4 and is now in the High School, another has been there since PK3 and is in 6th grade, the 3rd is in PK4. All 3 of them love going to school and can't bear the thought of ever changing to another school. The academics are challenging,
... Read more but appropriate, the activities are okay, and the school is happy to get your student connected to any program outside of the school. Student body size for the entire school is about 625. This is a perfect size, where teachers know their students and there is a sense of camaraderie among the students. Parents are very involved and students are very well behaved. Discpline is strict, but not overdone. The counselors work very hard at helping HS students apply for scholarships and to colleges. Overall, our family gives Hanalani an A+. Read less

My son just graduated from Hanalani (high school) and daughter graduated 3 years ago. One was there 11 years, one 8 years. Very firm discipline, but our kids thrived. Teachers are wonderful,caring. Religious based but nondenominational. Extracurricular activities are a lot fewer than some schools
... Read more but better than average for a school of its size. Choir/voice, band, drama all available. Educational standard is excellent. Our daughter is an engineering major now and some of her Hanalani courses were more challenging. I'm proud to have two Hanalani grads in the family. Read less

The K-5 academic program is enriching, fun, challenging and attainable for the children. The kids have computer class once a week, art class once a week and learn a host of songs throughout the year. After searching through the list of schools for my daughter for over a year and a half,I kept coming back to Hanalani. I am thankful that I did. ... Read more grow. I am unbelievably amazed at how much her knowledge has been expanded, thanks to the exceptionally great teacher she has. The school itself is a relatively small campus which has that family setting. Everyone knows everyone and is so willing to lend a helping hand. The curriculum is age appropriate, the field trips planned are an added bonus to their education and the after school classes offer the diversity that can benefit children in the future. This is my sons first experience with traditional schooling. He is presently a K-5 student, on his 6 month of school. The school is very small (student body size unknown), and well organized, as far as separating the grade levels. The class size is average, approximately 18 students to 1 teacher.
... Read more The teachers are familiar with all of the students, which is very nice. Several elementary teachers know my son by name, which adds a nice personal touch. The curriculum is challenging and age appropriate. My son feels successful at school and enjoys going. Teachers are eager to talk with parents regarding student progress. AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
