Where as other schools have multi tracks and you can't take a vacation because their on vacation half of the time due to the rotation of the track schedule. I like the fact that this is a small school and the staff is very friendly, I have no regrets about this school. The NCLB laws have made all public schools cut back on imaginative and creative areas due to the concentration on the core subjects. ... Read more Art Day every year for students in grades K-2 and finally have organized and executed a beautiful May Day performance where every grade level participates including pre-school! The only other thing they could do better is provide a talented and gifted program that is separate from the classroom and have a full time technology teacher. Granted, it is not in the most desirable area and air conditioning is badly needed but I am a fan of the school and its staff. Read less

Barber's Point is the only accredited elementary school on the island. Their staff is phenomenal and they go the extra mile to make the school a better one. They have many inter-grade meetings to ensure that each grade level is ready to move forward. The lack of parental involvement in a child's education
... Read more is unfortunately a major factor in that child's success as well. Once more parents realize this, more children will improve. Barber's Point educates all classes and all races effectively. The school is the home to the NASA Challenger Center as well as a nice grassy playground and play area. The library is top notch and the school is working toward improvement and progress. This is the school where you want your children to be!!! Read less

I am more than pleased that my daughter is a Barbers Pt Jet! She had previously attended elementary schools in Monterey, Ca., and in Whitmore village in Wahiawa, HI. We moved (on our own expenses) to the Kapolei are just so our daughter could receive a better education. Millilani schools are great;

I called the school months ago to see the school. Never returned my call. I got in touch with them finally, they said I could come today for 15min. To many students to teacher. I felt like I was a student and not an adult while speaken to the teacher. I called back after my visit and inquired about seeing
... Read more another class. I was told that the other teachers teach the same thing and the classes are identical. I was also questioned if I was military and if I would be transferring soon. I thought this is a public school. My final word is if you care about your childs education don't send them there. Very unprofessional from the secretary to the teacher. Advanced Placement
