As an educator myself, I have been very pleased with the care and concern the teachers, administrators, and staff members have given my son. Mokapu Elementary is a great school. The administration, teachers, and staff really care about the children. Mokapu's Staff takes pride in their school. ... Read more get involved. PTA sends emails to parents every week requesting for Parent Volunteers. If you have the time..even if it's 1 hour a day..it makes a difference. The staff at Mokapu treats their parents with respect and treats everyone equally. I have never seen any discrimination regarding your military status/rank. You could come to the school well dressed or in your pajamas and you wouldn't be judged. If you have an issue about your child's education or welfare..communicate with Ms. Ostrem and Ms. Shaner..They are here for the children and parents of the school. We finally got that resolved by going to the superintendent. And although my daughter was way ahead of her class she was given no extra 'enriching' activities to do and was instead expected to sit around bored and/or reprimanded for not paying attention (well, she already knew it!). Advanced Placement
