... Read more DOE schools and that leads to the teachers having less to teach with which shouldn't be the case. My son reports fights on a weekly basis. I also remember being told about mandatory study halls if your grade dropped to a certain mark and that isn't always the case..... There are some great teachers who push the kids to achieve and for that I appreciate them, but get tired of hearing that these kids take up an entire hour acting out. Read less

... Read more homework. They have been in communications with me from the start. You have to want to continue to be a part of your children's lives and help them along with the teachers. I found a few of the teachers lacking so far at Kailua, I was hoping they'd actually make sure my child did his classwork while in class but they claim it's not their job to do so. One even suggested it was 'my' responsiblity to come to class to make sure he did his work, apparently she couldn't be
... Read more bothered. Funny, I got him to do his homework. Anyway, I thought that was the exact purpose of teachers, to teach. Sadly its still one of the better schools in the area. He still passed after much ado, but overall, I think some of the teachers could do a better job of handling their students and doing whats required of them. Read less

... Read more the friendships he makes there will be life-time friendships. Of the 6 teachers that my son has, 5 of them are excellent teachers. They have this passion about teaching and sincerely cares about the success of the students. My experience with the Registrar when we needed to get a copy of my son's schedule, librarian during the book fair, office staff and Vice Principal and Principal have been outstanding. My son enjoys the freedom of riding his bike to school, participates in voluntary study hall, and boys and girls club. He is a very happy. Read less

Advanced Placement
