Read what parents are saying about Grace Baptist Christian SchoolThis is my sons second year attending GCA and the experience has been horrible. The environment lacks stability. In 6 months, they have had 3 lead teachers. His class is behind the other two pre-k classes due to the poor hires. The staff does not communicate well with parents and sadly, we will not be returning next year.
Posted by a parent on 2/2/2017My 2 year old has started attending the PK-2 class this year. So far so good. He stayed at home before starting here so I have nothing to really compare it to. However, I do have very high standards for my son so here is an honest review. All the staff is friendly from what I can see. They care for the students very well. To date, there hasn't been an instance where he has come home injured or hurt which is great. I love the Christian focus. I would also say that security is good. They have lots of programs and activities for the students as well. The only thing they need to improve on is student advancement. My son knew almost all the curriculum before he started so they should increase the learning standard. Even as a 2 year old, they can learn more than you think. But this is not a deal breaker because I work with him at home. Also, in regards to pricing...I would consider it to be cheaper than some others and very affordable.
Posted by a parent on 10/15/2014Overall the school is great! I have a complaint about the quality of some teachers chosen. I am experiencing a teacher of my niece is rude and she does not know how to treat all children fairly, allowing the same students to do the class assigned jobs. This week of 3/24/2014 she threw my niece fruit and bowl away which she did not purchase and on 3/24/2014 she threw her carrots away saying it would cause ants. They are not eating in the classroom they are in the cafeteria. She need to be reprimand for her actions and possibly take some classes on how to deal with students in the classroom. She has been picking on my niece since the beginning of school.
Posted by a community member on 3/25/2014I feel that this school has fantastic staff who works with parents to overcome any challenges they may face. One thing that concerns me was people saying that the staff was "unfriendly." I have never seen someone in the front office not smiling, or asking if I needed help without putting down anything they are working on and helping me first and foremost. I feel that people have a certain "idea" about what a private school should be and when they have these false visions and something doesn't happen they are upset. As parents we should keep an open mind as to what works best with our children and not bash others when something doesn't go our way. With communication to my child's teacher as priority I have found myself very happy with GCA and will be returning.
Posted by a parent on 2/27/2014Horrible! What happened? My child has attended this school since three and is going on the second year there. Last year Ms. Bates was the principal and she was excellent. The staff was friendly, teachers seemed to be happy and I most of all was impressed. Now comes the second year, Ms. Bates is no longer there and they are horrible. The "new" staff is very unfriendly you can tell they do not want to be there. Even the teacher's attitudes have changed and the new teachers they hired are not impressive, although I absolutely love my child's teacher. The ASP teachers and the ones that they have added always seem as though they do not want to be there. My child will not be attending this school next year. DO NOT take your child there. Unprofessional, Unfriendly, just NOT what it used to be.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been involved with fthe school for the past 7 years. The administration is very open to the parent community and the staff is passionate about giving the children a nuturing enviroment while focusing on academic excellence. This is not your cooki cutter elementary school. It is an example of finding ways to motivate and reach children through the arts.Parent Review8mo ago - Varner Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAdministration is supportive and concerned for each student. They are always willing to lend a listening ear for parents, staff, and students. Each teacher my child has encountered has helped her growth as a student. I am pleased with my child's experience at Varner.Parent Review5y ago - Praise Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family loves Praise Academy! This is our 6th year and have no plans of leaving. No school is perfect, however I feel like admin addresses all issues they are made aware of. I love the approach the current admin is taking compared to the previous admin. My children have found lifetime friendships at Praise. I love the family atmosphere and willingness from staff and other Praise families to help each other. Being able to drop my children off every morning and not worry about them is priceless. If you’re on the fence in choosing a school please visit Praise/set up a shadow day. I’m positive your children will love it!Parent Review1y ago - Grace Baptist Christian School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would to not only go against the first review but totally disagree with every word on it. My child has been going there for 8 years now and I have no complaints! Every teacher there not only has a teacher certification/ degree but also helps my child with special needs and meets my expectations with him more than I could imagine. There has always been help with my son and one on one help at all times with the small classroom sizes and caring teachers. I not only know the owner well, but have a lasting bond with other teachers there. The owner has even helped me financially and would give me the shirt off her back with no hesitation. My child entered middle school this year and I noticed there are new teachers. I was nervous at first, however these new teachers have completely changed the atmosphere and gone above and beyond for my child and the other children in the classrooms. My child feels completely safe and comfortable to talk about their feelings to teachers or the owner without a doubt in his mind that they will not be private or confidential. I absolutely love Brighton and my child hopes to become a teacher there one day!Parent Review2mo ago
