We have 3 children that have attended Etowah . One is in College, one is a Senior and one is a Freshmen. Our Freshmen seems to be having the most trouble in Biology and the New Math 1. What concerns us is he is an IEP student and because of this it has made it more difficult for him to learn. We was

Etowah has a policy that if you are late to class you get detention and this is why our child doesn't go to its locker. The sports has improved but if you have a student that plays then if that student doesnt get the class then he or she will have to run. Read less

This school is the worst school ever they don't care about whether the students are learning or not. The best discipline they have is handing out detentions for anything. And if anyone says that the freshman will feel welcome thats not true. Last year as a freshman the upper classes just booed at us

Personally, as a senior two months from graduating from Etowah, I think my high school is the perfect stereotypical high school. Most of the students hate it, but that is to be expected. I think Etowah could focus a little more on writting, art, music, and acedemics. Its main concentration has always

I'm a writter and would have liked to see more specific creative writting classes and/or clubs offered at Etowah other than journalism. And our art work...outstanding, but when does it ever get recognized? The administration is typical in my opinion. There is only so much the staff can do to discipline those of us that decide to be unruly. And the person that complained about Saturday school, I completely concur but I don't see any parents helping to come up with alternative solutions. Read less

Since I'm a freshman, I've been pushed and shoved all over this school in the past months, and I think I know just about where everything is! The classes are one of a kind, and our sports program is outstanding (our 5-AAAAA football team made it to the playoffs!), and we have a variety of clubs to offer

Etowah is a great school. My oldest daughter is now attending University of Alabama and is rooming with a girl that went to a top private school (they both are in the honors program). So far, my daughter is making higher grades than her roommate even in the subject that her roommate plans to minor

An okay school. The food is okay, some teachers are less than stellar, but about 75% are above average, willing to do quite a bit for their students. The Administration can be very condecending, so i would recomend a small period of time spent here testing the waters.

As a graduate of Etowah High, I can now look back and see the good and the ugly. For a school that is over crowded, it does very well and is successful in academics as well as sports. Students have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of clubs and I felt that I was well prepared to move onto

Totally agree with the parent who compares Etowah to a Prison. No flexibility, they take extreme measures for everything. The Vice/or assistant principal 'Dr.Denny' -shes terribly harsh and rude. She was so condesending to my daughter who has recently transfered out of state and is having a hard time

EHS treats upper classmen like grade school kids. It's so frustrating when you have to get forms or hand things in because everythings so difficult with the staff. They always act annoyed and send you off to another person. They act like you are stupid with every question you ask. I highly recommend you do not send your kids to this school. I bet the good comments on here were written by the staff of Etowah Read less
