My daughter attended Holsenbeck her first year of school and we loved it. Her teacher was wonderful (Mrs. Nunnally). I'm not so sure if it was the school that impressed me, but the teachers most defintly!

My stepson is a student in 5th grade at Holsenbeck. He has been there since kindergarten, and I have been involved with him and his education for about 2 years now. No matter what problems he has with reading, math or anything else, their typical response is 'Don't worry, we'll have him ready to make a good score on the CRCT.' I couldn't care less about the CRCT.....I just want my stepson to be taught the fundamentals he needs in elementary school......the test will then take care of itself.....We as parents are both disgusted at the performance of the people at this school.....and don't try to talk to the administration....all they want to do is cover for the teachers......Pathetic. ... Read more a very tight ship but it s behind the times when it comes to dealing with current and emerging social issues. Support for the Hispanic community is strongly lacking at Holsenbeck. My partner and I feel that there is to much time spent cramming so the students do well in on the CRC test and that this eats away time that could be better spent actually learning. I honestly get the feeling that all the teachers at Holsenbeck would go the extra mile for their students. Dialogue between parents and the teacher is key for success at this school. Read less

I think that our school and students would greatly benefit from a Spanish Club. I would also like to see greater parent involvement in the school and with the students. After two years, we have pulled our daughter from Holsenbeck due to concerns over discipline and the obvious lack of leadership at the highest level. I have two daugters in Holsenbeck, one in 5th and 4th that started in January. We were in a Clarke County public school and feel Holsenbeck is by far a better school with higher standards, wonderful and caring teacher's and staff, and the other children are great. My girls have not had a single problem

I feel that my girls are not only happier here but are also getting a better education and has found it to be more of a challenge academically. I don't know about other students and who they have as a teacher, but my son is in 4th grade and has more like 25 in his class with one theacher. I feel like I am home schooling him. He goes to school and gets his work and he and I work on it for a few hours every afternoon. If it wasn't for me being

Advanced Placement
