The testing scores were admirable compared to the state's averages however I have noticed a pattern in the science and math areas in the 4th and 5th grade levels which indicates that some additional emphasis need to be placed on these subjects. Wynbrooke, is an excellent school but there are some areas that require attention. I am an educator and a parent of a Wynbrooke student. The curriculum is good but I do think that some of the teachers tend to overload the students with homework. Parents tend to be very involved and many of the assignments

Read more require parents to assist, taking this into consideration there needs to be some sort of balance that allows a parent to assist their Wynbrooke student while at the same time, allowing them to maintain a good stress free home environment. Too much homework can lead to an overload. I try to have my boys do extra activities outside the home, but am faced with homework that puts a strain on family activities. Wynbrooke is good but the work given and some of their teachers need to be reviewed. Read less

... Read more always addressed any of my concerns one on one and shows a genuine concern for my child. He does make you feel at home with his 'homeboy' approach but it has been nothing but professional. I'm proud to have Mr. Phillips working with my child and truly believe that it has only had a positive influence for my son to see him in action. I respect him and thank God he is in this position. They are both in the gifted program and my husband and I feel truly blessed to have Wynbrooke. We have even formed lasting friendships with parents and staff. For a young school Wynbrooke have excelled in all phases of education. I have for the first time since living in this country experienced what I learned in college many years ago. ... Read more is a great principal, and being able to relate to his parents does not make him, 'homeboy' but someone who can be a Principal, a peer, a father, a brother, an uncle, and a friend. I feel Wynbrooke is not meeting expectations that they are trying to promote for our children. One of the biggest problems I found at this school, was the fact the principal wants to be everybody's homeboy. You cannot do this when you are in an administrative role. He is continously losing good teachers

I felt that the staff was much more interested in talking on their cell phones and having high test scores than they were enjoying being teachers. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
