I am writing to say that this school is terrible, and here's a major example: I am 16 and was scared to death by the school. It was so poorly administrated, and the bullying, threatening, and the pot smoking teenagers in the ROTC hall bathrooms scared me, too. I applied for a private school, but unfortunately,

I am a student at RHS and I just wanted to say that the new wing isn't for the 'extra smart' kids. It's for regular classes. I think we have a bad reputation for a highschool, but creating things like the Honors Academy will help out with how RHS looks as a school in Walker County, hick central. It really

I have a 12th grader at RHS, he has done quite well with grades even though he did have some teachers that did not seem to care. He 'got through' the class and moved on to the next. I do know that parent involvement is lacking at the school.the time and are involved. My child started with the new

I am disappointed about what I hear about the new hall being put into effect, that this is only for 'extra smart' kids to be isolated from the ones that are not so bright. This could only lead to disappointment of other students that are smart but not smart enough to make the cut. My child's experience with the school has been great. Read less

I have a 10th grader in this school, I have seen a lot of improvement since last year. This principal seems to have it together as far as discipline, very few of the teachers seem to care, some are teaching in fields that they are not prepared for and the students hurt because of it. Each of my 2 kids spent 4 years at RHS. They loved their time there. They are both now in college and were well prepared to attend college. I wish the dropout rate was not so high. I think more can be done by administrators and guidance counselors to keep students in school and involved. This process

My son is a 10th grader this year and high school has been great for him. The band program has been wonderful for him. The problems that we have encountered so far has been that most of the teachers don't care. If parents do not keep on top of their kids credits then I have noticed that the school will make alot more mistake's which in turn will result in that child dropping out of school. Which is why the high dropout rate. Overall this has been a good experience. Read less

My daughter attended Ridgeland High School in the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 school years and I believe Ridgeland is one of the best run schools that I've encountered. We have moved back to Pennsylvania but since however the school here cannot hold a candle to Ridgeland High School and the teachers that

He also took the time to write on my childs report card which is something that hardly any principal does anymore. No Ridgeland High Schools staff clearly cares about the children and what and how they are being taught. This is an excellent school and if I moved back would be the area I'd move back to so that my child could attend the high school. Read less

I graduated from Ridgeland in 2003. I don't think there is anything wrong with the teacher, faculty, staff, or administrators. The problem is that parents do not take the responsiblities as a parent. The disapline problem could be solved if parents would either punish there children or let the administrators

I'm not a parent of an attending student, I actually graduated from Ridgeland three years ago. When I do have children, I will never send them to a school like Ridgeland.
