Lewis Academy is an outstsanding school. My child has thrived academically and socially. The principal has been an asset to the school communicating with the parents and students. The teachers are caring and work very hard to make sure my child receives the best education possible. I highly reccommend

I have a 1st grader at LAE. I am extremely pleased with the educational values at this school. My son has improved academically as well as behavior wise. A school that practices excellence should show just that. it appears to me that this school along with it's CEO is for show purposes only. It is something with an administration that has so much teacher turnover. You can count the number of returning staff on one hand. ... Read more to communicate otherwise I have to question the degree of caring for the children to learn. If they get it ok, if not they will miss out because the 4th grade team of teachers are just not willing to go the extra mile and be proactive in ensuring your child is recieving the materials necessary to study. But attempting to communicate with the director to discuss matters that would be advantageous to the school and to the benefit of the students (i.e. fundraising), requests are ignored. However, when it comes to needing money for field trips, assembly programs, etc., there is no hesitation coming to the parents. I am very proud of the strides that LAE has made with enhancing an already superior academic program. ... Read more to come. Parent involvement is still not where it should be but many of the parents who are able to support the school are doing a great job. My job does not allow me to be at the school physically as much as I would like but I call and send notes to communicate. The administration in my opinion is really working on improving and the results of their efforts is obvious. Communication and organization are still barriers but I am confident that with more support from parents, the school board and the community we can move those barriers. Read less

I am very pleased with the academics at LAE. I have to children who attends there. One of my children have a learning disability, he is getting the help unlike the county school. There are a few kinks in the managerial area but that goes along with any new establishments. Parental invovlement is good
... Read more but it can be better. Parents need to come out and get invovled behind the scenes to understand alot of the things going on. One parent made a comment about the Sweetheart Ball. There is a cover charge and refreshmments sold at all function of this sort at any school you go to. Now, that LAE has purchased there own building there will be more extracurrulum activities. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
