I think portal is a great institution for learning, but as far a social life, since portal is soo small there is not many things to do.

I am a student at PMHS. I strongly disagree with most of these reviews. These parents have no idea what they are talking about! If you spent every day at this wonderful school, you'd understand that our teachers are fantastic at their jobs! I have made straight A's all throughout my middle and high school

If you parents would raise your children to respect their elders, then they wouldnt have to be told more than once to tuck in their shirt tails! I'm going to be a senior this year, and I can safely say that I feel prepared for the real world because of all the love and support from the tightly knit crowd of folks at Portal Middle High School. Thank you. Read less

Portal is a great school. We take acedemics very seriously here, and despite what people may think, our schooling is definitely the most important thing here, not football or cheerleading [or softball, baseball, basketball.] And players of the sports don't get special attention either, really. We're

Of course we have disadvantages, [like not having many clubs, or sports like soccer or tennis] since we're so much smaller than most schools, but we're a smart bunch and most of us take our grades seriously. As for the dress code, it is really strict, but it's just something you're going to have to deal with. Overall, I really think that Portal is a much better choice of public school to go to than any other in Bulloch County if you want a quality education. Read less

Hi, I will be a senior at Portal next year and I love it. Yeah, there are some disadvantages of going to a small school like lack of AP/Advanced classes, but were working on it and I honestly believe that the bad outweighs the good. In response to us not reaching our potentisl, I strongly disagree. Portal

Portal Middle High School is just like any other school in Bulloch County. We teach, we learn. The main problem is that everyone is more concerned about our looks than our learning! I mean, come on, who cares if your shirt tail is out or if your chewing gum in class. I understand that it is the rules,

This is a great school. After reading the other reviews, i felt compelled to reply. Dress code issues should not even be a concern. The students and parents know the rules and have to sign a document indicating that they have read and understand them. So not dressing accordingly creates a compeling

In fact, i find them to be of very high standards. This high standard is not only indicated by my child's individual performance but overall test scores for the school. Acadmics are the number 1 priority there--but you must follow the rules in the process. Music, art and athletics are available to all students. The one area of concern i have is parental involvement--come to the pta meetings! great school! Read less

this is a very overrated school. The students are blistfully unaware of the lack of education they are recieving from their teachers. These students have endless potential, but they dont have any one to help them reach their potential. All the teachers here are not bad, but 90% of them are.I get the
... Read more impression that this school focuses more on 'dress code' than education. Yes I know it is a rule but putting these kids in ISS for two days just because their shirt tail might hang loose is simply unacceptable. These are potentially doctors, lawyers, and money making adults, and to take away the 'teachers' lesson if you want to call it that is unfair to the minds of these hard working children. These kids come to learn and the teachers come for the money, there is no heart in the so called lesson these teachers barely teach. Thank you. Read less
