My son attended Blackwell K-5 grades. I volunteered in each of his classrooms and I was able to see first hand how wonderful the teachers were. He was always challenged by his teachers at Blackwell. He is now successful Sophmore at Kell HS. Blackwell has some of the best teachers in Cobb Co schools!
... Read more Dedicated, caring, and concerned are just a few words to describe them. Because of these wonderful teacher's influence, he plans to become a teacher himself. A large problem is lack of parental volunteers. If each parent would take an hour out their schedule to volunteer in some capacity, more would be accomplished. Instead, a few parents give up many hours to pick up the slack of those that do not volunteer any of their time. Parents that work are able to volunteer if they truly want to make a difference. My grand-daughter has been going to Blackwell Elem. since 1st grade. I'm please with the overall structure of the school. The teachers are very courteous and helpful. However, I'm very disappointed that she did not get any home work in 2nd grade, hope 3rd grade will be better.

My two stepsons went to Blackwell. We are making a poitn of avoiding it while looking for a new house. ASP was very unsupervised. They got good grades without much studying and it is showing now that they are in high school and middle school. The youngest had 4 different teachers his first grade year

The oldest had behavior problems and was given so many chances before we ever found out about it that it made it difficult to do anything about it. Not happy with this school at all. This is the first year my daughter is in a public school (4th grade) and I have been somewhat disappointed with the school. My daughter did well academically in her previous schools and am baffled how she can still obtain stellar grades when I don't ever see her studying and rarely does she have homework.

* In 2006-2007 Georgia administered the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) in reading, English language arts and math in grades 1 through 8 and in science and social studies in grades 3 through 8. Advanced Placement
