Every middle school in the area seems to have their share of problems. Positives about Floyd are that there are some strong administrators, as well as some teachers who care, and do their best despite many discipline problems. ... Read more their hands full, with the disciple issues. PTA is very active. Floyd's population is very ethnically diverse. There is also a vast diversity in income levels, and parent involvement. If you are expecting high academic achievements, you may want to consider one of the private schools in the area. Read less

There are some excellent teachers. Lots of problems with attendance. Too many activities. Principal is nice enough to call every week to keep connected. I have not seen any Principal doing that, it is a plus, which tells me he is working hard to improve the school issues.

For the last 6 years my daughter has been in target classes. This year the school has lost all their target teachers and can no longer offer these classes for children that are learning at a faster pace. This is the first year we have had trouble getting her to attend school. She hates going to school

I have really been impressed with the front office administration. Specifically Floyd's Principal, Dr. Lawrence Bynum. My daughter will be in 8th grade this upcoming school year. I have never been so informed on what's going on within her school via Mr. Bynum's auto voicemail messages relative to school

I went to this school, and within one year I left and went to a private school. Floyd Middle 'School' is not a place that you would want to choose to send your kid(s) to. Most kids do not get along with one another, there is racial problems/violence due to diversity, and the school is located in a place

School places too much emphasis on non-educational issues. School leadership is weak and doesn't work well with parents. I can't wait for my child to be well past this attempt and education. Advanced Placement

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
