... Read more our kids. Its a family feeling environment. I believe all of the staff knows all the kids by name, which says alot. My daughter is on Principal Honor Roll list for the second semester. I like that they test the kids nationally so we know how their doing and where they may need help. Also that they reward all the kids almost daily with bull dog bucks my daughter loved pushing herself to do better so she purchase things in school. Rock Chapel you were her rock and will be missed. The school is average. My daughter was in the first grade for the 2006-2007 school year. Teacher out a lot. Didn't return calls. Not attentive. Had to work to get results. Not at all pleased. School seems extremely harsh for an elementary school. The main focus seems to be keeping kids in line vs. teaching them. Not all kids are delinquent. Additionally, I question what my child is learning when I see her homework and assignments. How can you cram 6.5 hours of learning

my child attended Rock Chapel from pre-k to 5th grade, and I can say I have been satisfied with the teachers and principal. The staff works well with the parents and students. The students feel safe and have a lot of fun while learning. I can say that the level of parent involvment could be a lot better
... Read more but that is not the schools fault it is the parents. The school offers music,arts, and other fun extracurricular activities for the kids. I do think there should be more academic clubs or programs for the students for motivation and some athletic programs too. Read less

Rock Chapel....I can't blame the Rock Chapel 100% but what I can say is that it is sad that schools are forced by the Board of Education to met certain scores. My son is diagnosed with ADHD and is an honor roll student but because of his condition and the teachers having to meet their goals, my son

When trying to work with teachers the first thing they want to know is he taking medication instead of trying to work together to control my son's diagnosed behavior. So my son will likely fail academically at Rock Chapel because numbers have to be met. Read less

Rock Chapel Elementary seems more like a military school than a school for learning and teaching. The principal is very hard on the parents, as well with the students! It's hard for the staff to work with parents instead of blaming them and helping them solve many of issues within the walls of Rock Chapel.

This school is one of the ones that doesn't inform parents about anything. I have yet to recieve anything in the mail about when school starts or when open house is. Sure they have it on the sign in front of the school but it doesn't tell you a time.

Advanced Placement
