I recommend NGHS to any upper middle class student in DeKalb County. It is a terrific school if you try to get the most out of your education. As a student at Miller Grove, I can say from my own experience that MGHS is truly one of the best schools in the county. Although we do not get the recognition that we desrve, it is clear once you walk through the doors of MGHS that MGHS is a place to grow and learn. The majority of teachers are very

The school motto 'You must do something' is enacted clearly with the involvement of the students and parents of the school. Although, as a newly established school, MGHS has a few problems to work out, overall, the school is wonderful and will surely be a widely regocnized name in the future. Read less

I am quite disappointed about the lack of leadership demonstrated by Dr. Thedford, the new principal who replaced Dr. Simpson. She is impersonal, distant from students and staff, and her approach has adversely impacted teaching and learning at the school. Many teachers feel micromanaged and dislike

My daughter often shares with me stories of students verbally assaulting teachers and being permitted by administrators to remain in the classroom. Teachers spend most of the instructional time telling 16 year olds to be quiet or remain seated. Where is the principal during all of the commotion: In her office or out of the school on 'business.' I would suggest she take the same hands-on approach that Dr. Simpson did with staff and students. Read less

For a new school, Miller Grove High School has done a great job of educating students, and informing parents of activities about the ongoings of the school. I think it is unfair to compare Miller Grove with schools that have been in operation for many years in the community and have established a sense
