The staff is very warm and friendly. I am concerned about the large amount of non-instructional time they have. The students have 30 min. for recess, 30 min. (at least) for lunch, and appx. 40 min. for specials. The school day is only 6.5 hrs. two of those hours (at least) is spent away from direct

We attended the Arts and Crafts Festival held yesterday at DFE...it was awesome!! You could tell a lot of hard work and thought went into putting this together. Just another reflection of how great this school really is!

I've appreciated the extra lengths the facutly has gone to in order to help the DFE parents better understand their child's progress in school. Teachers send home a lenghty monthly commentary which details not only how my child is doing, but also spells out what will be taught over the next four weeks

I love Dames Ferry. I am so thankful that they put responsibility on my child and make her accountable for her work. The school has an excellent curriculum. The test scores improve each year. The teachers are extremely dedicated. I am amazed to see the number of cars that are still in the parking lot
... Read more long after school is over. The school is very innovative. The administration and faculty are always looking for new and better was to improve instruction. I always feel welcome when I visit the school. The support network of parents is evident by the number of parent volunteers that are present everytime I am there. Discipline is excellent. My daughter has never complained of students misbehaving on the playground on in her classroom when the teacher did not intervene. I went to this school today for a walk through. I was so impressed. The structure for art, music has changed from last year and they do those weekly now instead of one month at a time. The classrooms we visited were well run. The overall structure of the school was very impressive. I have two local

Don't move into this district. They claim to have an open door policy. They do as long as you never question anything about the classroom or teacher. Teachers complain about never seeing some parents, but the parents that care and question are told they aren't welcomed there. The better students

I love DFE! I was a student there from the time it openend(second grade)for me untill my senior year(fifth grade) the principal is extremley nice and fair and she is very weloming! Your child has never gone to a better school than Dames Ferry Elementary.

Wonderful school: beautiful new facility, friendly caring faculty, and staff. Curriculum places strong emphasis on reading skills.
