I currently have 2 kids that attend BB Harris and to make this discussion short and sweet there isn't any thing special about BB Harris. Dr. Burton shouldn't be there. That's all I am going to say you have to meet her to fully understand what I am saying.

I now have two students at BB Harris. I don't know if the new administration is to blame or whether it's some other issue, but I am becoming less pleased with the school each day. There is an air of complacency and the level of teaching seems to have declined within the past two years. BB Harris is not

My name is Denise Bucy and I taught at B.B.Harris from 2003-2007 under the leadership of principal, Nancy Hammond. From a teacher's perspective working at B.B. Harris was the ultimate experience. There was a sense of community & the children were happy and the staff morale was the highest I had ever

Parents were always welcome & were seen regularly at the school; working in the classroom, planning events, coming to lunch, etc. The only reason I left B.B. Harris last year was due to Dr. Burton. The fear factor was immed'ly put into place by Dr. Burton and her rule of intimidation tactics. She uses the 'big stick' policy. Teachers are leaving in droves. I would NEVER put my children in a school with Dr. Burton. Read less

Harris used to be a warm, inviting school. With the addition of the new administration, I no longer feel that way. My child is feeling the pressures that the teachers are sending off unintentionally. I have no quams with the education my child is getting, just with the way the school is now run.

My children could always go back and see one of their old teachers. It's a sad, sad thing for our small school. I know my child is cared for by the teachers there, but I am not so sure about the new administration. Read less

I am new to the state of GA. My daughter and I moved here from Orlando, FL. So far BB Harris Elementary is an okay school by way of academics. However, I am not pleased with the administration at this school. I have had several issues regarding my daughter and getting her the help she needs in Mathematics.

I do not call a U in math 'doing fine'. I am very displeased with the administration but I am very pleased with the material she is learning. I just wish they cared about my daughter receiving the material. Read less
